Activities of Daily Living/Functional Activities
- An evaluation is completed to determine a patient’s independence with daily tasks, including self care tasks such as bathing/dessing/feeding/toileting, as well as indoor/outdoor household tasks, job tasks and leisure activities
- One on one training is provided to instruct in and have the patient practice use of adaptive techniques and devices to increase independence and safety with completion of daily tasks
- Assistance is provided to help patients identify available resources to obtain adaptive equipment for independent completion of daily tasks is provided
- Instruction in Joint Protection techniques and Body Mechanic principles are available, including the practice of these techniques and principles specifically to each patient’s daily tasks
- Activities to simulate specific job tasks can be practiced and progressed in a graduated manner to allow safe return to job tasks post injury/surgery/condition
